Education
My quest into Graphic Design started at the young age of 16 at Weston Art College in Weston-super-Mare. With the education I had at my local college I gained a GNVQ in Art and Design and a BTEC National Diploma in Graphic design. To further my education in Graphic Design I went south and studied down in the country side of Taunton at Somerset College of Arts and Technology. After three years in Somerset I gained a Foundation Degree in Graphic Design and a BA (Hons) in Advertising and was capable to work on the design briefs in both Graphic design and Advertising.
Design Industry
The first company that took me under their wing was a brand specialist design company called Dew Gibbons based in London. At Dew Gibbons I was able to work on brand Identity projects for CMX and Boots Everyday packaging and took in some knowledge in how a commercial design company works.
Staying in London I then gained experience working with Salterbaxter where I learned to work on a brand identity project for one of the well known Art museums in London.
After spending time in the busy city life of London I came back home worked in Bristol and got took on a work placement basis at a company called Matthew Fairweather Designs where I worked on briefs for NHS Wiltshire and a branding brief for First Growth Synergy.
Freelance
After sending out many CVs and Work Samples to companies in Bristol I was invited work as Freelance Designer with a company that specialise in Print and Advertising designing called Kubiack Creative.
I then got the opportunity to take my skills and build my freelance reputation at a design company called Design Pro in Bristol, at this company I managed to work on many branding briefs.
After working as a Freelancer at these design agencies I was confident enough to take on some projects of my own and work on brand identity briefs for such companies as BluBrik Media, Exos, Soap Candy, Decineo, and more recently an ongoing project for Compleat. |
